Sibshops at Breakthrough Intensive Physical Therapy
Sibshops are workshops where sibs of a sibling with a disability can meet one another and participate in recreational and educational activities. They are designed to be recreational and provide a safe space for sibs to share their stories and make friends!
More About Our SibShops
To serve Siblings of all walks of life, we have three separate age groups.
SibKids: Ages 5-7
SibYouth: Ages 8-11
Young Adult: Ages 12+
In-Person SibShops workshops are offered once monthly and Virtual SibShops are offered twice monthly to provide options for everyone to connect with their peers on a regular basis!
Why SibShops?
There are an estimated 4.9 million individuals with developmental disabilities in the United States
- Sibs often have the longest-lasting familial relationships
- Sib needs and perspectives are often overlooked
- Siblings of children with special needs often have parallel emotions and experiences to the parent experience.
